Vinyl Discs
In the summer of 2023, I stopped by a garage sale in my neighborhood. A pile of old records caught my eye. I saw a surface on which I could paint something. What? I didn't know yet at that moment, but I listened to the little voice that told me to take them.
Back home they stayed in a pile in my workshop for a few weeks.
One day I took them out again. While looking at them, I read the title of one of them: ''Bluebird''. That's when I got the idea to paint a blue bird.
Meanwhile, I was looking outside. My father was in my yard helping me with the landscaping. He was the one who instilled in me his passion for birds. When we were young, he always showed us the birds we were looking at in the book on the birds of North America.
I also found myself smiling as I thought back to our dance nights in the living room, listening to his old American country records. In short, the timing was incredible; the subject of my new series was born.
